Czech conductor Jakub Hrusa, 39, has been announced as Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia from the 2021/22 season.
The appointment follows a number of highly successful appearances by Hrusa in recent seasons, and signifies the close bond that has developed between conductor and orchestra. Since his debut in 2016, Hrusa has been re-invited by the orchestra every season.
The first year of Hrusa’s tenure as Principal Guest Conductor will see him lead the orchestra’s season-opening and season-closing weeks, and subsequent years will feature touring and other special projects in addition to regular appearances on the orchestra’s main subscription series.
Jakub Hrusa also currently serves as Chief Conductor of the Bamberg Symphony and Principal Guest Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic.
