James Levine is conducting tonight his first performance at the Metropolitan Opera since he injured his spine more than two years ago. He will conduct Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte from the wheelchair. A special ramp and an automatic elevator have been built in the orchestra pit to allow Levine access with the wheelchair. This Cosi Fan Tutte is the 2,443rd performance at the Met, conducted by the now 70 years old Maestro.
