As a consequence of the financial problems encountered by the Dutch Orkest van het Oosten (HET Symfonieorkest), Jan Willem de Vriend quits his job as chief conductor after having been in charge of the orchestra for ten years. He will not be replaced. At the same time, a number of musicians see their contracts changed into part-time.
