Jayson Gillham
Following ten days of intense high-level competition, the Montreal International Musical Competition (MIMC) culminated with the announcement of the top three prizewinners of its 2014 piano edition: 27 years old Jayson Gillham (Australia/UK), 1st Prize, Charles Richard-Hamelin (Canada), 2nd Prize, Annika Treutler (Germany), 3rd Prize. After the Quarter-final round in which 24 pianists from 15 countries competed at Salle Bourgie between May 26 and 28, twelve semi-finalists took the same stage on May 30 and 31. Six of them performed a concerto of their choice with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal during the Finals on June 3 and 4 at the Maison symphonique de Montréal.
