Conductor JoAnn Falletta, 61, already the longest tenured music director of the Buffalo Philharmonic, signed a contract extension until 2021. Falletta came to the BPO in 1999. She has brought international recognition to the orchestra with some 30 CDs for Naxos. Falletta is based in Buffalo, and also serves as the music director of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and the principal guest conductor of the Brevard Music Center.
