With an aperitif, a concert, and a festive dinner, American conductor John Axelrod launches his Culinary Concerts in Chardonne. Switzerland on 26 September. « Combining wine, food and music is nothing new. What makes the Concerts Culinaires de Chardonne innovative, and my idea comes from there, is to combine the best of each in order to create a sensational experience accessible to the public », says Axelrod.
The conductor, who has an experience as wine-maker in California has already organized Culinary Concerts in the USA, Spain and Italy. « My goal today, as a resident of Chardonne, is to encourage our audience to support and showcase the talents and winemaking, gastronomy and music of our region. »
With soloist Alexandra Conunova,and the International Orchestra of Geneva Axelrod will conduct works by Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and Piazzolla before inviting his audience to a gastronomic 5 course dinner created by Chef Mathieu Bruno of the Là-Haut restaurant in Chardonne, recently awarded the 1st Swiss culinary merit and holder of a Gault & Millau distinction. Wines come from Le Parrain. The organizer says that space is limited and for anyone concerned all required health measures will be in effect: « The Concerts Culinaires de Chardonne are not only safe but a special synesthesia of the senses. »
