Canadian ensemble Les Violons du Roy have announced today that Jonathan Cohen will be the orchestra’s new Music Director from the 2018/19 season. He will assume the title of Music Director Designate from February 2017, with two concerts at Palais Montcalm, Quebec on 23 February. Jonathan takes over from Bernard Labadie who founded the orchestra in 1984 and resigned due to illness.
Cohen will remain Associate Conductor of Les Arts Florissants, Artistic Partner of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Artistic Director of Tetbury Festival and Artistic Director of Arcangelo.
