Joseph Swensen
Joseph Swensen, 62, an American conductor of Norwegian and Japanese descent, will be the new music director of the French Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine as of the 2024/2025 season. He will succeed Paul Daniel who was in this position between 2013 and 2021.
A violinist by training and also a teacher, Joseph Swensen, 62, has been Principal Guest Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, Principal Conductor of the Malmö Opera and Music Director of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He is Artistic Director of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra (Wroclaw).
