Ein Programm mit Nocturnes ohne Chopin: Der spanische Pianist Josu de Solaun, mittlerweile als einer der interessantesten Pianisten unserer Zeit fest etabliert, wenn auch noch immer nicht genügend bekannt, schöpft aus dem reichen Nocturnes-Repertoire und präsentiert ganz besonders schöne und musikalisch wertvolle Kompositionen.
Er tut es sehr stilvoll, mit der Sorge, nie sentimental zu werden, mit großer Klarheit, und immer mit jenem Grad an Nachdenklichkeit, mit jenem Reichtum an Differenzierung, der die Musik auch nicht bloß träumerisch werden lässt.
Formale Feinstrukturen und harmonische Mischungen werden in ihrer ganzen Komplexität berücksichtigt, ohne die Intimität je in Frage zu stellen.
Er erzählt uns diese Nachtgeschichten ohne auch nur einen Anflug von gekünsteltem Spiel, ohne jede belanglose Artigkeit und in einem Maße raffiniert, dass man immer wach bleibt.
A program of Nocturnes without Chopin: the Spanish pianist Josu de Solaun, now firmly established as one of the most interesting pianists of our time, although still not sufficiently known, draws from the rich Nocturnes repertoire and presents very beautiful and musically valuable compositions.
He does it very stylishly, with care never to become sentimental, with great clarity, and always with that degree of thoughtfulness, with that richness of differentiation, which also makes the music not merely dreamy.
Formal fine structures and harmonic blends are taken into account in all their complexity, without ever questioning the intimacy.
He tells us these night stories without even a hint of contrived play, without any petty artifice, and to a degree of sophistication that always keeps one awake.
