The latest Karajan Community Letter is dedicated to ‘Karajan and Mozart’. Julia Binek has created a one-hour documentary about working on Mozart with Karajan. For this purpose, she talked to a large number of legendary singers who performed and recorded with Karajan in the 1970s and 1980s: Janet Perry, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Francisco Araiza, Paata Burchuladze and Ferruccio Furlanetto. Additional interviews are with Rolando Villazón as head of the “Mozartwoche” in Salzburg, Peter Peinstingl (organist of St. Peter Abbey in Salzburg) and Dr. Ulrich Leisinger (Academic Committee of the Mozarteum). The film is available in English and in German with English subtitles!
