The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance has appointed 39-year-old Japanese conductor Keitaro Harada as the fifth Music Director of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.
Harada will act as the Music and Artistic Director Designate in ’24-25 before taking the helm in 2025.
Keitaro Harada is music and artistic director of Savannah Philharmonic, Permanent Conductor of the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Guest Conductor and Artistic Partner for the Aichi Chamber Orchestra.
In 2023, he received The Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award from the Solti Foundation U.S.
