The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association announced Thursday that Ken-David Masur has been named Principal Conductor of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the CSO’s training ensemble for professional musicians.
Ken-David Masur (born in 1977 in Leipzig) is an American conductor of Japanese and German ancestry, the son of conductor Kurt Masur and Masur’s third wife, the soprano Tomoko Sakurai
Masur is the newly appointed music director of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, is just finishing a run as associate conductor at the Boston Symphony.
