Kent Nagano, 65, Music Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra (OSM), has rejected the orchestra’s offer and will not renew his contract beyond 2020, the conductor’s PR officer in Germany said.
The American conductor will by then have been in this position for 14 years. Nagano is Generalmusikdirektor in Hamburg since 2015.
The OSM plans to start the search for a successor in short time.
