Der 1994 in Chile geborene Pianist Hugo Llanos spielt Musik von chilenischen Komponisten, vom virtuos-glitzernden Las Arpas Chilenas von Santiago Heitz (1819-1879) über das etwas schwächelnde Nocturne von Federico Guzman (1827-1885) bis zum Album Musical von Guillaume Deichert (1828-1871).
Deichert war ein deutscher Pianist, der als Teil einer Gruppe von Einwanderern nach Chile kam, die von Rodulfo Philippi, Naturforscher an der Universität von Chile, ermutigt wurden, die südlichen Regionen zu kolonisieren. Nachdem er sich auf dem Land niedergelassen hatte, arbeitete Deichert als Klavierlehrer an der Deutschen Schule für junge Damen (1865), als Mitarbeiter des Nationalen Musikkonservatoriums, als Lehrer sowie als Musikkritiker für die Zeitschrift Las Bellas Artes. In seinem Album ist insbesondere die Konzertfantasie ein brillantes Werk über chilenische Themen, das von Hugo Llanos Campos virtuos gespielt wird.
Die Tonaufnahme ist etwas hallig und mulmig.
Born in Rancagua, Chile, in 1994, pianist Hugo Llanos performs music by Chilean composers, from the virtuosic and sparkling Las Arpas Chilenas by Santiago Heitz (1819-1879) to the somewhat languid Nocturne by Federico Guzman (1827-1885), and to the Album Musical by Guillaume Deichert (1828-1871).
Deichert was a German pianist who came to Chile as part of a group of immigrants encouraged to colonize the southern regions by the naturalist and University of Chile academic Rodulfo Philippi. After settling in the country, Deichert worked as a piano teacher at the German School for Young Ladies (1865), as a staff member of the National Conservatory of Music, as a teacher and as music critic for the magazine Las Bellas Artes. In his Album, the Concert Fantasy in particular is a brilliant work on Chilean themes, virtuously played by Hugo Llanos Campos.
The sound recording is a bit reverberant and mulish.
