Three works have been selected for this year’s Composition Prize of the Geneva International Music Competition. The composers had to submit a concerto for clarinet and orchestra. From 67 scores, the Jury chose three finalists, Nocturne III by 22-year-old Korean Jaehyuck Choi, Bocca Chiusaby the 31 year-old Yair Klartag (Israel) and Prank by Hankyeol Yoon (23, Korea).
Their compositions will be performed by soloists Fabio Di Càsola, Jérôme Comte and Ernesto Molinari and the Geneva Chamber Orchestra during a public final round on November 26th in Geneva, Switzerland. The winning piece will then be imposed as compulsory piece for the final round of the clarinet competition in 2018.
Jury members are Matthias Pintscher, President (Germany), Unsuk Chin (Korea), Xavier Dayer (Switzerland), Magnus Lindberg (Finland) and Ichiro Nodaïra (Japan).
The Final Round will be broadcast live on Sunday 26 Nov. from 5-8:00 PM on RTS Culture (Swiss Television), as well as via the Geneva Competition’s website and Facebook & YouTube accounts.
