Mélanie Brégant spielt auf ihrem neuen Album Accorgueon Bearbeitungen von Orgelwerken auf ihrem Akkordeon, den sie als entfernten Cousin der Orgel bezeichnet. Mit Musik von Bach, Pachelbel, Mendelssohn, Franck, Boellmann und Escaich ist dies eine Reise durch verschiedene Epochen, vom Barock über die Romantik bis hin zur zeitgenössischen Musik. Brégant setzt sich dabei gut für die Erweiterung der Möglichkeiten des Akkordeons ein und kleidet die Stücke in neue Farben und Stimmungen. – On her new album Accorgueon, Mélanie Brégant plays arrangements of organ works on her accordion, which she calls the organ’s distant cousin. Featuring music by Bach, Pachelbel, Mendelssohn, Franck, Boellmann and Escaich, this is a journey through different eras, from Baroque to Romantic to contemporary. Viele Erstaufnahmen von Sommer-Liedern
Naxos setzt die Lied-Edition von Hans Sommer (1837-1922) mit der zweiten Folge fort. Der Mathematiker, Naturwissenschaftler, Schuldirektor und Komponist schrieb Opern, Vokal- und Kammermusik. Die Lieder Hans Sommers beweisen seinen Sinn für Textdramatik und Textstimmungen, ob nun in den Eichendorff-Liedern, dem italienisch angehauchten Zyklus ‘Aus dem Süden’ oder in den anderen Liedern dieser CD, von denen bis auf vier Stück alle Ersteinspielungen sind. Sommers blühender Phantasie begegnet Jochen Kupfer mit viel Ausdrucksvielfalt. Am Klavier wird er bestens unterstützt von Marcelo Amaral. – Naxos continues the Lied edition of Hans Sommer (1837-1922) with the second set. The mathematician, natural scientist, school principal and composer wrote operas, vocal and chamber music. Hans Sommer’s songs demonstrate his sense of textual drama and textual moods, whether in the Eichendorff songs, the Italian-influenced cycle Aus dem Süden, or in the other songs on this CD, all but four of which are first recordings. Sommer’s flourishing imagination is met by Jochen Kupfer with great expressive variety. He is optimally supported on the piano by Marcelo Amaral. (Naxos 8.574142) – ♪♪♪♪
Mehr Scarlatti con Christoph Ullrich
Auf unverändert hohem Niveau und mit einem gleichbleibenden künstlerischen Anspruch geht Christoph Ullrich seinen Weg, für Tacet sämtliche 555 Sonaten von Domenico Scarlatti einzuspielen. Jetzt ist Volume 7 erschienen. Die beiden CDs enthält die Sonaten K. 236-265. Die unumstrittenen Qualitäten von Ullrichs Scarlatti-Interpretationen bleiben erhalten: klare und formschöne Darstellung, rhythmischer Schwung, Farb- und Tempowechsel in einem übergreifend zusammenhängenden Konzept. – On an unchanged high level and with a constant artistic concept Christoph Ullrich goes his way to record all 555 sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti for Tacet. Volume 7 has now been released. The two CDs contain the sonatas K. 236-265. The undisputed qualities of Ullrich’s Scarlatti interpretations remain: clear and shapely presentation, rhythmic momentum, changes of color and tempo in an overall coherent interpretation. Das Label Chopin University Press beginnt eine Reihe unter dem Titel Le Clavecin moderne plus Percussion. Die Cembalistin Alina Ratkowska, der Schlagzeuger Leszek Lorent und das Chopin University Chamber Orchestra spielen das unterhaltsame Stück Spanish Dancer sowie das ebenfalls fantasievolle Out of Time von Mikolaj Hertel (*1948), das nach Afrika entführende Afrika Celebration von Grant McLachlan (*1956) und das mystische Fatal Mirrors von Andrzej Karalow (*1991). Insgesamt ist dies ein originelles Programm mit exzellenten Darbietungen. – The Chopin University Press label begins a series titled Le Clavecin moderne plus Percussion. Harpsichordist Alina Ratkowska, percussionist Leszek Lorent and the Chopin University Chamber Orchestra perform the entertaining piece Spanish Dancer as well as the equally imaginative Out of Time by Mikolaj Hertel (b. 1948), the typically rhythmic Afrika Celebration by Grant McLachlan (1956), and the mystical Fatal Mirrors by Andrzej Karalow (b. 1991).
