Schweizer Liedkunst
Die Schweizer Sopranistin Franziska Heinzen, die vom Pianisten Benjamin Mead begleitet wird, hat eine CD aufgenommen, die eine Hommage an die Schweizer Liedkunst ist und im Besonderen auch an ihren Heimatkanton Wallis, dies wegen des Zyklus’ ‘Lieder us um Tal’ (1981) von Eugen Meier auf Walliserdeutsche Gedichte von Hannes Taugwalder (1910–2007). Die dreizehn Lieder werden mit weiteren Liedern Schweizer Komponisten aus dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert (Joachim Raff, Othmar Schoeck), aber auch mit zeitgenössischen Kompositionen etwa von Heinz Holliger oder Isabel Mundry ergänzt. Das ergibt ein abwechslungsreiches und engagiert dargebotenes Programm, an dem sich jeder Liebhaber anspruchsvollen Liedgesangs erfreuen kann. – The Swiss soprano Franziska Heinzen, accompanied by the pianist Benjamin Mead, has recorded a CD that is a tribute to the art of Swiss song and in particular to her home canton Wallis, because of the cycle ‘Lieder us um Tal’ (1981) by Eugen Meier on Wallis-German poems by Hannes Taugwalder (1910-2007). The thirteen songs are complemented with other songs by Swiss composers from the 19th and 20th centuries (Joachim Raff, Othmar Schoeck), but also with contemporary compositions, for example by Heinz Holliger or Isabel Mundry. Ein Programm mit Musik für die Posaune
Der polnische Posaunist Wojciech Jelinski spielt das Posaunenkonzert, die Sonatina und andere Werke von Kazimierz Serocki (1922-1981) zusammen mit dem Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra unter Lukasz Borowicz, dem Sepia Ensemble, TrombQuartet und dem Pianisten Tomasz Sosniak. Die Posaune ist kein populäres Soloinstrument, und das mag an ihrem Klang und ihren Klangmöglichkeiten liegen. Die hier aufgenommene, teils recht originelle Musik zeigt einen exzellenten Solisten, und die CD wird jedem Posaunisten und auch Freunden von Blasmusik gefallen. – Polish trombonist Wojciech Jelinski performs the Trombone Concerto, Sonatina and other works by Kazimierz Serocki (1922-1981) together with the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra under Lukasz Borowicz, Sepia Ensemble, TrombQuartet and pianist Tomasz Sosniak. The trombone is not a popular solo instrument, and that may be due to its sound and tonal possibilities. Die Blockflöte in London
Ein Programm « zwischen Traumvertiefung und Lebensfreude aus dem multinationalen Schmelztiegel des barocken London » haben die Blockflötistin Iris Lichtinger und der Lautenist Axel Wolf zusammengestellt. Die Interpretationen sind farbig, frisch und transparent, aber auch sehr ‘klassisch’, das heißt ohne irgendwelche Exzesse hinsichtlich Tempo und Dynamik. Lichtingers Virtuosität wirkt niemals bemüht und ist in allen Hinsichten beachtlich. Sehr gefällt mir auch das reich ornamentierte Spiel von Axel Wolf. – A program « between dream immersion and joie de vivre from the multinational melting pot of baroque London » has been put together by recorder player Iris Lichtinger and lutenist Axel Wolf. The interpretations are colorful, fresh and transparent, but also very ‘classical’, that is, without any excesses in terms of tempo and dynamics. Lichtinger’s virtuosity never seems labored and is remarkable in all respects. I also very much like the richly ornamented playing of Axel Wolf. (Perfect Noise PN2205) – ♪♪♪♪
Lugansky erneut mit Rachmaninovs Etudes-Tableaux
Mit einer erneuten interessanten Deutung der Etudes-Tableaux von Rachmaninov wartet Nikolai Lugansky bei Harmonia Mundi auf. Er spielt sie elegant-virtuos, kontrastreich, ungemein farbig und auch poetisch sinnerfüllt. Auch spontan wirkt sein Spiel, und über die ganze CD hinweg spannend. Die lange Beschäftigung mit diesen Partituren, die er bereits mehrmals eingespielt hat, zahlt sich aus. Was früher noch jugendlich energisch klang, ist jetzt gereift und aussagekräftiger. – Nikolai Lugansky presents another interesting interpretation of Rachmaninov’s Etudes-Tableaux on Harmonia Mundi. He plays them elegantly virtuosic, rich in contrast, immensely colorful and also poetically meaningful. His playing also seems spontaneous, and exciting throughout the entire CD. The long occupation with these scores, which he has already recorded several times, pays off. What used to sound youthfully energetic is now mature and more expressive. Entdeckungen für die Laute
Bernhard Hofstötters Album für die Laute vereint Werken Achaz Casimir Hültz, Esaias Reusner dem Jüngeren, Germain Pinel, Ennemond Gaultier, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, Jean Berdolde Bernard Bleystein de Prague sowie etlichen annonym gebliebenen Autoren. Die gesamte Musik stammt aus dem Album für die Laute der Sammlung Wolffheim, die in Melbourne aufbewahrt wird. Es sind ausschließlich Ersteinspielungen. Hofstötters Spiel basiert auf einem einfühlsamen Verständnis der einzelnen Werke. Die Interpretationen sind harmonisch gut ausgewogen, schön verziert und angenehm klar. Er gibt einzelnen Stücken eine gewisse Feierlichkeit, andere klingen sehr lebendig. Der Klang der Aufnahme ist ausgezeichnet. – Bernhard Hofstötter’s Album for the Lute brings together works by Achaz Casimir Hültz, Esaias Reusner the Younger, Germain Pinel, Ennemond Gaultier, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, Jean Berdolde Bernard Bleystein de Prague and several anonymous authors. All the music is taken from the album for the lute of the Wolffheim Collection, archived in Melbourne. They are all premiere recordings. Hofstötter’s playing is based on a sensitive understanding of the individual works. The interpretations are harmonically well balanced, beautifully ornamented and pleasantly clear.
