Domenico Scarlatti hat 555 Sonaten für Cembalo komponiert. Warum Chrystina Kacziynski-Kozel nur 10 davon für Klavier einspielt und somit ihr Album mit seiner Dauer von nicht einmal 45 Minuten disqualifiziert, ist schleierhaft. Und es ist doppelt schade, denn Christyna Kaczynski-Kozel spielt einen hervorragenden Scarlatti und vermag es, die ganzen Emotionen, die Scarlatti in seinen Sonaten mitkomponierte, auf schönste Weise wiederzugeben. Das ist nicht unbedingt historisch informiert, aber in der Auslegung doch substantiell und nachvollziehbar.
Spieltechnisch ist die Pianistin auf der Höhe und es gelingt ihr, den Hörer auf ihrer Reise durch die Scarlattis Welt der Emotionen mitzunehmen und zu packen. Umso größer ist die Enttäuschung, wenn schon nach 44 Minuten Spielzeit Schluss ist.
Domenico Scarlatti composed 555 harpsichord sonatas. It is a mystery why Chrystina Kacziynski-Kozel recorded only 10 of them for piano, disqualifying her album with its duration of less than 45 minutes. And it is doubly a pity, because Christyna Kaczynski-Kozel plays an outstanding Scarlatti and is able to convey all the emotions that Scarlatti composed in his sonatas in the most beautiful way. This is not necessarily historically informed, but the interpretation is substantial and comprehensible.
Technically, the pianist is excellent and succeeds in taking the listener on a journey through Scarlatti’s emotional world. This makes it all the more disappointing when the CD comes to an end after only 44 minutes.
