Aziz Shokhakimov inszeniert in diesem, der griechischen Mythologie entlehnten Ballett weder rassig-kühle Eleganz (wie Prévin oder Karajan), oder sensualistische Schwüle (wie Chailly), sondern vor allem Langeweile. Die Musik fließt oft träge, flach, ungenügend differenziert und wird nur hin und wieder etwas dramatisch, aber ohne wirklich spannend zu werden. Es fehlt mir an Kontrasten und Konturen, an klanglicher Schärfe und Transparenz, an Stimmungen und rhetorischer Kraft.
In this ballet borrowed from Greek mythology, Aziz Shokhakimov stages neither racy, cool elegance (like Prévin or Karajan) nor sensualistic sultriness (like Chailly), but above all boredom. The music often flows sluggishly, flatly, with insufficient differentiation, and only occasionally becomes somewhat dramatic, but without really being exciting. It lacks contrasts and contours, tonal sharpness and transparency, moods and rhetorical power.
