Eleganz, Stil, Virtuosität, Lebendigkeit. Was will man mehr? Schöner und authentischer kann man diese Sonaten für obligates Cembalo und Violine nicht spielen. Hier arbeiten zwei Musiker zusammen, die atmen können, die Bachs Musik zum Fliegen bringen. Von der Strenge, die man seiner Musik gerne andichtet, ist hier nichts zu spüren.
Mit einem Augenzwinkern und einer gehörigen Portion Lebensfreude schenken uns Ambroise Aubrun und Mireille Podeur eine Gesamtaufnahme dieser Sonaten, die man zu den besten zählen muss. Die exzellente Aufnahmetechnik unterstützt das luftige Spiel der beiden Interpreten, so dass Bachs Musik zudem hier sehr räumlich und dynamisch erklingt. Auch spieltechnisch lassen die beiden Musiker keine Wünsche offen. Was soll man sonst noch sagen außer: Hervorragend!
Elegance, style, virtuosity, liveliness. What more could one ask for? One cannot play these sonatas for obbligato harpsichord and violin more beautifully and authentically. Here two musicians work together who can breathe, who make Bach’s music fly. There is no trace of the austerity that one tends to attribute to his music.
With a twinkle in their eyes and a good portion of joie de vivre, Ambroise Aubrun and Mireille Podeur give us a complete recording of these sonatas that must be counted among the best. The excellent recording technique supports the airy playing of the two performers, so that Bach’s music also sounds very spacious and dynamic here. The two musicians also leave nothing to be desired in terms of playing technique. What else can one say except: Excellent!
