Only a few days after the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège announced that the compoèany is seeking to recruit a new General and Artistic Director to succeed 72-year-old Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera, the intendant died from cancer yesterday in Liège.
Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera presided over the Royal Belgian Opera House as Artistic Director and Intendant since 2007. Under his leadership, the house has experienced an unprecedented development in its artistic quality, international reputation and public image.
