The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and music director Louis Langrée have agreed to extend the French conductor’s contract through the 2021-22 season. The previous extension was announced in March 2015 and covered the years through the orchestra’s 125th anniversary season in 2019/20. Langrée has taken over this position in 2013. The French conductor is also Chief Conductor of the Camerata Salzburg and Music Director of the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center in New York. . Langrée is the orchestra’s 13th music director. Langrée and his wife Aimée Clark Langrée, a writer for French television, have two children. The family resides in Cincinnati.
In October, Langrée will lead the first concerts at the renovated Music Hall in Cincinnati following the building’s $135 million face-lift.
