The Athenaeum International Cultural Centre and the Atheneum Conservatory in Athens today announced the death of their founder and President, conductor Louly Psichouli. Psichouli, founder also of the International Music Competition Maria Callas Grand Prix, died on October 29. Louly Psichouli was born in Athens and started her studies in music at a very early age. She studied in Athens, in Paris with the professors Jacques Février and Marguerite Long and in Vienna with Hans Swarovsky. She was the first woman conductor in Greece.
