French conductor Ludovic Morlot, 50, has extended his contract as principal conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona y Nacional de Cataluña (OBC) until the summer of 2028, thus completing six seasons at the helm of the orchestra.
Morlot will continue to work on several recording projects for the L’Auditori label, including the complete works of Ravel, and will strengthen his commitment to contemporary composers such as Héctor Parra, Octavi Rumbau, Luís Codera Puzo and Joan Magrané.
Morlot is Conductor Emeritus in Seattle, and in 2019 he was appointed Associate Artist of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
