In its Stagiunea Europa the Oltenia Philharmonic Orchestra in Craiova will play on February 12 two works by Luxembourgish composers: Moods, for Orchestra, by Marco Pütz (*1958) as well as Trois esquisses for String Orchestra, by René Mertzig (1991-1986). Craiova, Romania’s 6th largest city and capital of Dolj County, situated in central Oltenia, started the European Season in October 2015. It will end in May, and by then, 28 concerts dedicated to the European Union member states will have taken place.
Carlo Jans also will conduct Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony and Introduction et Rondo by Saint-Saëns with Constantin Riccardi as soloist.
