The second edition of Catch Music Festival will take place from May 4 to 6, 2023 in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie. Bringing together confirmed local musicians and young emerging talents, this initiative of the pianist Cathy Krier and the violinist Laurence Koch aims at creating an enriching, inspiring and non-hierarchical musical experience for everyone and to encourage the Luxembourg music scene.
The festival puts a strong emphasis on promoting young talent and aims to give them an opportunity to perform in a professional setting. « When we were promising young musicians, we had many opportunities to perform. Organizers such as the Echternach Festival, the Friends of Bourglinster Castle, Solistes Eureopéens Luxembourg, among others, invited us regularly and gave us the opportunity to gain professional experience. We benefited from a lot of support. In our turn, in a process of transmission, we now want to offer these opportunities to young talents through this festival », the organizers say.
The festival presents musicians such as Isabelle Kruithof, Kelly Ge, Pamina Kashii-Grebet, Laurence Koch, violins; Benjamin Kruithof, Tom Feltgen, Matis Grisò, cello; Ralph Szigeti, viola; Kae Shiraki, Elena Neumann, Zala Kravos, Cathy Krier, piano; Mika Gieres, Aniela Stoffels, flute; Max Mausen, clarinet, Christophe Frisch, horn; Jean-Paul Dietz, bassoon; Kenny Ferreira, baritone; Emmanuela Teutsch, oboe; and Luc Schiltz, narrator. We are also pleased to welcome two female composers: Catherine Kontz, and Emmylou Växby.
