Two productions from the partnership between United Instruments of Lucilin and the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg are going on tour! After the successful world premiere at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, United Instruments of Lucilin performed Adam Maor’s opera The Sleeping Thousand at the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg this week and then takes it, on January 16, to the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.
This is a co-production of Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, Ircam-Centre Pompidou, Helsinki Festival,Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie/De Munt (Bruxelles) and Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.
Later this month, the opéra En Silence by Alexandre Desplat and Solrey will be performed at the Rohm Theatre in Kyoto and at the Kanagawa Prefecture Hall in Yokohama. Luxemburg’s premier ensemble for contemporary music will also play a concert at the Grand-Duchy’s embassy in Tokyo on 23 January.
