From June 23, Luxembourg Music Publishers will make available a major set of adaptations of Luxembourg’s national anthem, based on the recently discovered original manuscript.
Musicologist Pierre Schwickerath discovered this original manuscript of Jean-Antoine Zinnen’s composition in the holdings of the National Library ion Luxembourg. The score is written for TTBB male choir and symphony orchestra – and not for wind band, as some have suggested. Luxembourg Music Publishers is therefore publishing this original edition on the occasion of the National Holiday.
Additionally LMP has conferred composer Ivan Boumans with the task of adapting and arranging afin complete set of versions for chamber orchestra, symphony orchestra with SATB ad libitum choir, wind orchestra and SATB ad libitum choir, as well as editions for SATB mixed choir and men’s choir with piano accompaniment. Pierre Schwickerath also wrote a version for choir and organ.
The version for mixed choir and symphony orchestra will be performed for the first time at the National Holiday official ceremony at the Philharmonie de Luxembourg.
