The French city Lyon has appointed Lyon Trinité Musique as the new manager of La Chapelle de la Trinité for a period of five years. His organization reunites the baroque orchestra Le Concert de l’Hostel Dieu and Superspectives, a presenter of contemporary music. Built between 1617 and 1622 as part of the Jesuit College, the Chapelle de la Trinité boasts exceptional Baroque architecture that has recently been restored.
La Trinité will present an annual concert season punctuated by festivals promoting the hybridization of aesthetics and the decompartmentalization of audiences. « Our programming will focus on three main areas: reconciling repertoire and creation, encouraging dialogue between disciplines and the arts, and exploring the links between music and nature, » explains Artistic Director Franck-Emmanuel Comte. François Mardirossian, artistic advisor, adds: « We want to open the chapel as a ‘three-in-one’ venue: a house of the Baroque, open to the diversity of players in the sector and today’s audiences; a laboratory for new creative practices, capable of reconciling the taste for experimentation with the pleasure of sensitive experience; a place of cultural hospitality, enabling everyone to reappropriate our common heritage, whether musical or architectural.
