Italian conductor Marco Guidarini has been appointed music director of the Poznan Opera. His focus will be on the Italian opera and especially the great works by Verdi.
Born in Genoa, Marco Guidarini was Music Director at the Opera house in Nice between 2001 and 2009.
Since 2009 is a regular guest of the Canadian Opera Company, and from 2014 is the Guest conductor for the Italian and French repertoire at the Prague State Opera. Equally very active in the symphonic field, Marco Guidarini is currently Music Director of the Mitteleuropa Orchestra, in northern Italy.
He’s been founder of the renowned Apostrophe Ensemble dedicated to modern music, and he is Artistic Director of the Bellini Belcanto Competition, taking place between Paris and Buenos Aires.
