Die Mezzosopranistin Maria Weiss und der Lautenist Luca Pianca haben zusammen mit ‘1607 ensemble für alte & neue musik’ ein aufwändig in Buchform gestaltetes Album herausgebracht. Darauf gibt es fünf Ersteinspielungen Alter Musik u.a. von Francesco Gasparini und Jean Philippe Rameau, sowie zwei Ersteinspielungen Neuer Musik von Wolfgang Mitterer.
Das Buch enthält neben der CD auf fast 200 Seiten musikwissenschaftlich fundierte Werktexte, begleitet von einer fotografischen Reise durch den Süden Österreichs, Biografisches zu allen Beteiligten, ein Interview von Luca Pianca und Wolfgang Mitterer und weitere Inhalte.
Dem reichhaltigen Buch entspricht eine attraktive musikalische Realisierung. Die österreichische Mezzosopranistin Maria Weiss hat eine sehr charakteristische und am Timbre erkennbare, reine und sonore Stimme. Mit ihrer Atemtechnik und Phrasierungskunst kann sie sehr textverständlich singen. Gestalterisch trifft sie in allen Werken den Charakter der Stücke sehr gut und kann entsprechend stimmungsvoll singen.
Die beiden schönen und fantasievoll komponierten Stücke des zeitgenössischen Komponisten Wolfgang Mitterer, beschließen das Programm.
Together with ‘1607 ensemble für alte & neue musik’ the mezzo-soprano Maria Weiss and the lutenist Luca Pianca have released a particularly rich album in book form.
It contains five first recordings of early music by Francesco Gasparini and Jean Philippe Rameau, among others, as well as two first recordings of new music by Wolfgang Mitterer.
In addition to the CD, the book contains almost 200 pages of musicological texts on the works, accompanied by a photographic journey through the south of Austria, biographical information on all participants, an interview by Luca Pianca and Wolfgang Mitterer, and other content.
The rich book is matched by an attractive musical realization. Austrian mezzo-soprano Maria Weiss has a very characteristic voice, recognizable by its timbre, pure and sonorous. With her breathing technique and art of phrasing she is able to sing so that the text becomes very comprehensible. In all the works, she captures the character of the pieces very well and is able to sing in a correspondingly atmospheric manner.
The two beautiful and imaginatively composed pieces by the contemporary composer Wolfgang Mitterer, conclude the program.
