The American conductor Marin Alsop, 66,. will take on the artistic leadership of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) in Katowice at the start of the 2023-24 season, after the end of 81-year-old Lawrence Foster’s tenure.
Alsop is currently Chief Conductor of the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Music Director Laureate of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and chief conductor of the Ravinia Festival. The Philharmonia Orchestra London has announced that it is appointing Marin Alsop as Principal Guest Conductor from the 2023-24 season.
