Marina Rebeka hat für ihr neues Album ein abwechslungsreiches, durchwegs feierliches Programm zusammengestellt, das bekannte und weniger bekannte Titel enthält. Mit ihrer runden und warmen, sehr sensibel geführten Stimme gibt sie jeder Melodie ihren spezifischen Charakter. Dass der eine oder andere Titel durchaus opernhaft klingt ( es sind schließlich auch Auszüge aus Opern dabei), ist kein Nachteil, schließlich geht es hier auch darum, die großartige, durch die wunderbar verbundenen Register hindurch perfekt präsente und vorbildlich geführte Stimme von Marina Rebeka zu bewundern. Dennoch steht der stimmliche Glanz immer im Dienste der Musik. Rebeka singt besinnlich und ohne falschen Gefühle. Ihr Gesang ist stilistisch einwandfrei und geht nie über den Rahmen hinaus.

Marina Rebekas Stimme  sowie Chor und Orchester unter der inspirierten Leitung des lettischen Dirigenten Modestas Pitrenas schaffen eine wunderbar festliche Stimmung, die die ganze Platte prägt.

Marina Rebeka has put together a varied, thoroughly festive programme, which includes both well-known and lesser-known titles. With her round and warm, very sensitively led voice she gives each melody its specific character. The fact that one or the other title sounds quite operatic (after all, there are excerpts from operas included) is no disadvantage, since this CD is also about admiring Marina Rebeka’s magnificent voice, perfectly present and exemplarily led through the wonderfully connected registers. Nevertheless, the vocal brilliance is always at the service of the music. Rebeka sings contemplatively and without false feelings. Her singing is stylistically flawless and never goes beyond the scope.
Marina Rebeka’s voice as well as the choir and orchestra under the inspired direction of Latvian conductor Modestas Pitrenas create a wonderfully festive atmosphere that characterises the whole recording.
