New York’s Carnegie Hall announced that due to poor health, Chief Conductor Mariss Jansons had to withdraw from this second concert with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Stern Auditorium, scheduled for Saturday, November 9. Vasily Petrenko, then agreed to lead the orchestra in his place. Jansons’ health conditions become more and more a problem for the Bavarian Orchestra. He cancelled all his concerts in June, July and August, then the European tour at the beginning of this month. He flew to New York with his orchestra and conducted the first concert on 8 November, but fall ill again and had to cancel the second concert.
