Jean-Jacques Kantorow, artistic and musical director of the Orléans Symphony Orchestra, has announced that he will not extend his contract when it comes to an end in June 2014. As motive for his decision, Kantorow gave personal reasons. He proposed Marius Stieghorst to become his successor. This suggestion was accepted by the Orchestra. Stieghorst is currently assistant conductor at the National Opera in Paris and Chief Conductor of the ‘Orchestre des Jeunes du Centre’.
