The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s managing director Sophie Galaise has left the organization. Her resignation comes after the turmoil created by contradictory decisions following the performance of a pianist who had dedicated a piece to killed journalists in Gaza. Peter Garrett, a musician and former federal MP, has been appointed to lead an independent external review of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
