With the Unions disagreeing with the proposed pay cuts, Met general manager Peter Gelb proposed federal mediation. “In response to A.G.M.A.’s proposal, we have suggested a more pragmatic way forward: that a representative of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service be appointed immediately to mediate our negotiations, working with both sides to find a compromise agreement,” the Met said in a statement. So far, the unions did not react.
