Still struggling with financial problems, New York’s Metropolitan Opera has offered buyouts to 21 of its 243 full-time administrative staff members. The company’s percentage of box office realized in 2015-16 was as low as 66 %, with an attendance of 72 %. According to General Manager Peter Gelb the box office realized rose 1 percent last season, while attendance was up 3 percent.
