Michael Nündel

Berlin-born conductor Michael Nündel is to become the new Music Director of the Musikalische Komödie, Oper Leipzig’s venue specialising in musicals and operettas. His appointment begins with the 2024/25 season.
Michael Nündel completed his musical training in conducting and piano at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin until 1999 and subsequently at the Schola cantorum basiliensis in Basel until 2003. From 2007 to 2014, Michael Nündel was engaged at the Kiel Theatre, where he became 2nd Kapellmeister in 2012. From 2015 to 2021, Michael Nündel was engaged as 1st Kapellmeister at the Staatstheater Darmstadt.
