Mikko Franck, Music Director of the Paris based Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, has announced the appointment of two new assistant conductors for the 2019-2020 season, Emilia Hoving, 25, from Finland and Kornilios Michailidis, 30, from Greece.
Kornilios Michailidis took up his duties in September 2019. The Greek conductor studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and at the Ecole normale de Musique in Paris. He has already held this position as assistant conductor of the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris and the Teatro Real de Madrid.
Emilia Hoving is still studying at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. She is currently assistant conductor with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. In Paris she will take up her duties in January 2020.
