The Mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, has announced a fundraising evening at the Teatro alla Scala to help the Venetian opera house La Fenice which has been badly damaged by flooding.
La Scala will organize a special ballet performance of a Balanchine/Kylian/Béjart triptych. The programme includes the classic Symphony in C by George Balanchine on the notes of Symphony No. 1 in C major by Georges Bizet , Petite mort by Jiri Kylian on two movements from Mozart’s concertos for piano and orchestra K 488 and K 467 and finally Ravel’s Boléro with the historical choreography by Maurice Béjart. The Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala will be conducted by Felix Korobov.
