Aus dem bei Testament ganz erhältlichen Radiomitschnitt der Ring-Oper Siegfried stammt die Aufnahme des 3. Aufzugs. Im grandiosen, breit geatmeten, spannungsvollen Dirigat von Joseph Keilberth ist Martha Mödl eine überwältigende Brünnhilde gegenüber dem jugendlich-feurigen Wolfgang Windgassen als Siegfried. Bemerkenswert sind Hans Hotters autoritativer Wanderer und Maria von Ilosvays exzellente Erda.
Parsifal war in Bayreuth bis 1964 für Knappertsbusch reserviert und es gibt ein halbes Dutzend verschiedene Aufnahmen dieser Oper, alle live aus Bayreuth. Die Version von 1955 ist eine gute Mischung zwischen Mystik und Dramatik. Der 2. Akt stellt die düster-emotionale, leidenschaftliche Martha Mödl als Kundry dem sarkastischen Klingsor von Gustav Neidlinger gegenüber. Ramon Vinay ist ein heldenhafter, baritonaler gefärbter, kraftstrotzender Parsifal.

Mödl is an overwhelming Brünnhilde opposite the youthfully fiery Wolfgang Windgassen as Siegfried. Notable are Hans Hotter’s authoritative Wanderer and Maria von Ilosvay’s excellent Erda.
Parsifal was reserved for Knappertsbusch in Bayreuth until 1964, and there are half a dozen different recordings of this opera, all live from Bayreuth. The 1955 version is a good mix between mysticism and drama. Act 2 juxtaposes the somberly emotional, passionate Martha Mödl as Kundry with Gustav Neidlinger’s sarcastic Klingsor. Ramon Vinay is a heroic, baritone-tinged, powerhouse Parsifal.
