Russian-Ukrainian composer Igor Krutoy has shared some worrying news about Dmitri Hvorostovsky’s heath situation. The bass-baritone is fighting a brain tumour since 2015. He has cancelled a number of upcoming opera performances, yet two recitals are announced for September, in Bucharest and Moscow.
In the Komsomolskaya Pravda, Krutoy made it clear that the rumours about the deterioration of Hvorostovsky’s cancer is not an exaggeration. He said: « As for Dima, God bless him, and may God smile at him. He fights, and this struggle is not exactly equal. We should all pray for his health. »
