Zwei Jahre nach ihrer Einspielung von Mozarts Klavierkonzerten KV 271 und KV 459 legt die Pianistin Olga Pashchenko mit den Konzerten KV 466 und KV 488 eine weitere Aufnahme mit dem Ensemble Il Gardellino vor. Die Anmut des ersten Albums ist im KV 466 einem oft harschen und dramatischen Spiel gewichen, an das sich das Ohr ebenso gewöhnen muss wie an das zögernd gespielte Adagio im KV 488, das oft einem Treten an der Stelle, einem Trippeln gleichkommt.
Auch im Orchester werden Akzente gesetzt, die völlig neuartig wirken. Das rhetorisch geschärfte und klanglich groß dimensionierte Finale dieses Konzerts sorgt ebenfalls für Überraschungen, weil hierin nicht nur das quirlige Klavier kommentiert, sondern auch viele Orchestersolisten gehörig mitreden.
Wer also die beiden Mozart-Konzerte in einer neuen Inszenierung erleben will, wird sich an diesen Aufnahmen gewiss erfreuen.
Zu Olga Pashchenko kann man noch sagen, dass sie halb Ukrainerin und halb Russin ist, und Familie in beiden Ländern hat. Sie hat sich gegen den Krieg ausgesprochen und Benefizkonzerte für die Ukraine gespielt.
Two years after her recording of Mozart’s piano concertos KV 271 and KV 459, pianist Olga Pashchenko presents a new recording with the ensemble Il Gardellino of the concertos KV 466 and KV 488. The gracefulness of the first album has given way to an often harsh and dramatic playing in K. 466, to which the ear must get accustomed, as well as to the hesitantly played Adagio in K. 488, which often resembles tripping.
There are also accents in the orchestra that seem completely new. The rhetorically sharpened and sonorously expansive finale of this concerto also holds surprises, for it is not only the lively piano that provides commentary, but many orchestral soloists as well.
Anyone who wants to experience the two Mozart concertos in a new staging will certainly enjoy these recordings.
Another thing to say about Olga Pashchenko is that she is half Ukrainian and half Russian and has family in both countries. She has spoken out against the war and played benefit concerts for Ukraine.
