Die in Deutschland lebende Anna Zassimova, sie sich klar gegen den Ukrainekrieg ausgesprochen hat, nimmt den Hörer mit auf eine Reise durch Musik von Komponisten, die besondere musikalische Schicksale darstellen, wie sie in Russland, einem Land, in dem das Volk ja nie frei war, gängig sind. Shostakovich darf dabei nicht fehlen, genauso wenig wie Medtner und Schnittke. Auch Mosolov war ein Opfer des brutalen Stalinismus, der auch Saderatskys Leben zur Hölle auf Erden machte. Catoire war ebenfalls im Gulag.
Das musikalische Programm zeigt, auf welch hohem künstlerischen Niveau diese Komponisten ihrem Schicksal trotzten.

Shostakovich is a must, as are Medtner and Schnittke. Mosolov was also a victim of the brutal Stalinism that made Saderatsky’s life a living hell. Catoire was also in the Gulag.
