Myung-Whun Chung
The general manager of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra announced her resignation in the course of allegations of sexual harassment and verbal abuse raised against her. Earlier this month, members of the Seoul Phil publicly accused Park Hyun-jung of repeatedly harassing them sexually and verbally. Music Director Myung-Whun Chung went into a verbal fight with the manager and said that he would resign if he had to continue working with Park Hyun-jung. He won that match. « I intend to resign as president of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra from today, » Park said in a press conference. « I am to blame for a large part (of the allegations) and I sincerely apologize for that. »
