The ongoing strike of the Chicago Symphony musicians is not likely to end soon. The negotiations are stuck in a dead end. Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued a statement saying, in part: “It is an honor to send my greetings to the men and women of the Chicago Federation of Musicians. Every day, your incredible talents and hard work enrich the community. Democrats stand in solidarity with you in asking the Chicago Symphony to come to the table with respect for the value of your work.”
The musicians announced that the full orchestra will play a free concert – the first performance since the beginning of the strike began – on March 25 at CTU (Chicago Teachers Union) Headquarters.
