The National Opera in Paris says in a press release that the public audit of the opera house for the period 2005-2014 has exposed figures that have, meanwhile, largely been corrected. While the opera’s car park has been completely liquidated, the costs for taxis (management, artists) has been reduced from €93,349.38 in 2014 to €60.000 in 2015 (-30%). Official dinners and reception are down from €52,413 to €47.000 (-10%). The current General Manager, Stéphane Lissner, says, most of the amounts pointed out by the Court of Auditors go back to the era of his predecessor.
The opera is of course delighted that the auditors found out that the production cost has been largely improved, with a notable progression of sold tickets and far better economic result.
