The Mannes Orchestra at the Mannes College the New School for Music, announced the creation of a Julius Rudel Award for Conducting Studies, named after the American conductor who died in June 2014 at the age 93. The program, financed by the Rudel estate, will give some Mannes conducting students residencies with the Buffalo Philharmonic.
