As of November, 2022, Gary Ginstling, CEO of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, will become the executive director of the New York Philharmonic and then, in June 2023, when Deborah Borda will step down, he will become president and CEO. Borda will take the position of executive advisor to the president and board of directors, starting July 1, 2023.
Prior to the NSO, Ginstling was CEO of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and before general manager of The Cleveland Orchestra.
